For grown-ups

Everything you might want to know about Miko's World, in one calm place.
Why Miko
Miko started as a handful of original songs written for one toddler who would only sing about colours. Every video is made in Canada with the same idea: learning through play, at a toddler's pace, with a friend who asks a question and actually waits for the answer. The songs are original, the pacing is slow on purpose, and there are no jump cuts, no product placements and no scary moments.
This website follows the same rules. There are no ads, no trackers, no accounts and nothing for a child to type. Anything that leads away from the play area, or that collects information, asks a grown-up question first.
Where to watch
Miko's videos are also available in the YouTube Kids app, which has no comments and stronger content controls. We recommend watching together on a TV or tablet with autoplay turned off.
Screen time, kindly
Watch together
Sit with your child and answer Miko's questions out loud. Co-viewing turns a video into a conversation, and it is where most of the learning happens.
Sing it away from the screen
Once a song is familiar, try it in the car, at bath time or on a walk. The Colour Hunt works anywhere there are colours.
Let the ending be the ending
Autoplay is off in the Jukebox on purpose. When Miko says "Bye bye, friends!", that is a natural moment to close the screen together.
Newsletter
A short email when there is a new video, a new colouring page or something new in the shop. Roughly once a month. Email only, double opt-in, parents only.
This form is for parents and guardians. We ask a quick grown-up question first.
Work with us
We love working with schools, libraries, early-years programs, family brands and event organisers. Miko can visit (on screen or as a big cut-out), sing at storytime, and we can supply printable activity packs. Licensing enquiries for the songs and characters are welcome too.
